About the Event

Nicole B. Simpson is the W. Bradford Wiley Professor of Economics and Department Chair at Colgate University, where she has been teaching since 2001. She holds a BA from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota and an MA and PhD from the University of Iowa. Her research focuses on immigration, the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), and education, with her work published in leading economic journals. She also authored a textbook on the economics of immigration, and she coordinates the VITA program at Colgate, where students assist low-income households with tax filing. Simpson teaches courses on immigration, macroeconomics, international economics, and poverty.
