Dietrich Bonhoeffer: Voices of Faith and Resistance in Times of Turmoil

The webinar series, Dietrich Bonhoeffer: Voices of Faith and Resistance in Times of Turmoil, featuring Dr. Reggie Williams, delves into Bonhoeffer’s profound and influential life. It places special emphasis on his transformative experiences in Harlem, as explored in Williams’ book, Bonhoeffer’s Black Jesus: Harlem Renaissance Theology and an Ethic of Resistance. Beyond examining Bonhoeffer’s historical impact, the series encourages members of Concordia College and Augustana University to reflect on their own vocational journeys of faith, justice, and social action.  

The format includes a lecture followed by a Q&A segment, allowing for in-depth discussion and engagement on Bonhoeffer’s theological insights, his ethical stances, and their relevance to contemporary civic engagement and social turmoil. This approach not only deepens understanding but also connects students with historical and modern contexts of faith-driven social engagement.
